Rowland AI Names Former Meta and Google Executive as President and Chief AI Officer
Rowland AI appointed Albert Chan as president and chief AI officer on May 18, tasking him with overseeing product development, AI strategy and company growth. Chan previously held senior roles at Meta and Google, most recently leading North America sales for Meta's small business group.
The Tulsa-based company builds AI tools for land and energy operators who need to process documents, automate workflows and analyze operational data. Its software handles mineral rights contracts, title work and regulatory records-tasks that typically consume significant time across land management teams.
What Chan brings to the role
Chan has spent more than 20 years in technology, sales and go-to-market leadership. Before Meta, he served as Google's country head for Japan and Korea and held sales leadership positions at Procter & Gamble. He also worked as chief revenue officer at Tickr, an AI analytics startup.
His appointment reflects Rowland AI's effort to strengthen product capabilities as industry-specific AI tools gain traction. Founder and CEO Blake Susman said the hire supports the company's expansion as adoption accelerates in energy and land management sectors.
The market opportunity
Rowland AI operates in a narrow but growing segment focused on enterprise AI for energy companies. Operators and infrastructure firms increasingly seek tools trained on specialized data rather than general-purpose systems.
The company's platform combines document processing, workflow automation and data analysis. It runs on SOC 2-compliant infrastructure and includes a proprietary knowledge layer built from decades of land management experience. Recent feature additions cover intelligent workflows, software development tools and advanced document processing.
Chan will lead both product and growth teams as Rowland AI expands its platform. The company was founded by land professionals and technology executives working at the intersection of energy operations and enterprise AI infrastructure.
