RBC Names Lamarsh VP of Data and AI Strategy for Commercial Banking

Royal Bank of Canada promoted Angie Lamarsh to Vice President, Data & AI Strategy in Commercial Banking. She will lead a newly integrated team building data products and AI solutions for commercial clients and internal operations.

Lamarsh joins the role from her position as Head of Sustainability, Personal and Commercial Banking at RBC. Before that, she directed climate transformation initiatives within the same division.

Her background spans more than a decade at HSBC, where she held roles in sustainable finance, corporate banking, and strategic transformation. Most recently, she served as Head of Sustainable Finance in HSBC's Commercial Banking division.

In her new mandate, Lamarsh will focus on data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration to deliver results across commercial banking. The role reflects RBC's effort to integrate data and data analysis capabilities with AI strategy.

Lamarsh said the position offers a chance to work with leadership across RBC on AI applications. "We have so much potential in how we are leveraging data, analytics and unlocking value using AI," she said. "I'm eager to keep learning and continuing that momentum."
