Sapiens launches AI-native insurance platform with agentic tools across underwriting, policy, billing, claims and customer engagement

Sapiens International Corporation has launched SapiensAIP, an AI-native SaaS platform that embeds artificial intelligence directly into insurers' core policy administration systems. The platform arrives as carriers and third-party administrators face mounting pressure to cut implementation timelines and manage legacy data migrations without disrupting live operations.

Built on more than 40 years of industry ontology, the platform extends Sapiens' existing core products across underwriting, policy, billing, claims, and customer engagement. Its architecture splits into three layers: a persona-based experience layer, an intelligence layer where agentic flows execute work, and a foundation layer grounded in Sapiens' insurance data models.

Operational hubs target migration and configuration bottlenecks

Two dedicated hubs form the platform's operational core. The Migration Hub deploys agent swarms to profile, map, validate, and extract legacy data without requiring pre-reformatting. It produces confidence-scored recommendations and reversible scripts while keeping human oversight in the loop. The Configuration Hub ingests documents in any format, maps fields automatically, and generates an auditable trail for team approvals - removing what Sapiens describes as a persistent implementation bottleneck.

"The AI future we have been talking about is here," said Sapiens Executive Chairman and interim CEO Mike Ettling. "The architecture behind SapiensAIP is the clearest expression yet of what Sapiens has become: the global insurance technology champion built to power the modern autonomous insurer of tomorrow, with a continuously improving layer of intelligence. This is an advantage no legacy architecture retrofitted with AI can match."

Continental General puts the platform to work

Austin-based third-party administrator Continental General, which manages books across life, annuity, long-term care, and accident and health lines, is already evaluating the tools. The company wants to onboard books of business faster and at lower cost - a pressure point familiar to any TPA managing multiple carrier clients.

Ayanna Burns, Chief Transformation Officer at Continental General, said: "SapiensAIP represents the kind of platform direction we want from our technology partners - AI that's embedded in the core system, not bolted on." She added that the Configuration Hub and Migration Hub are being tested against real workflows, and early signals are promising.

Sapiens CEO Designate Paul Wheeler pointed to the Continental General engagement as a concrete example of the platform's intent. "For insurers, this means faster time to production, lower transformation risk and a return on investment in AI working in their core systems, right now," he said.

Why this matters for insurance operations teams

For insurance professionals managing policy administration, billing, or claims systems, the launch signals a shift toward AI for Insurance that lives inside the core stack rather than sitting in a separate layer. The Migration Hub's agent-based approach to legacy extraction addresses a real pain point: the months of manual mapping and validation that typically precede any PAS migration. Meanwhile, the Configuration Hub's ability to ingest unstructured documents and produce auditable field maps could shorten the gap between contract signing and go-live. For TPAs like Continental General, where speed to production directly affects revenue, AI Agents & Automation embedded in the system of record changes the economics of taking on new blocks of business.
