Sapiens has launched the Sapiens Autonomous Insurance Platform, a software-as-a-service system that embeds AI directly into insurers' core policy administration workflows. The platform, branded as SapiensAIP, targets faster implementations and lower transformation risk for carriers and third-party administrators managing underwriting, policy, billing, claims and customer engagement.
The system is built on three layers. A persona-based experience layer sits on top. Beneath it, an intelligence layer runs agentic workflows that execute tasks. The foundation layer draws on the company's ontology, built from more than 40 years of insurance industry data and experience.
Migration and configuration hubs with auditable decisions
The foundation layer powers two dedicated hubs designed to accelerate system transitions. The migration hub profiles, maps, validates and extracts data, ingesting legacy files in their original format without requiring reformatting. It suggests how old data should map to the new system and assigns a confidence score for review by the customer's subject matter experts.
The configuration hub accepts documents in any format and maps them to the corresponding field in any system. It also produces a confidence score so teams can review and approve what moves forward. Every decision leaves an auditable trail, giving insurers a reversible, documented conversion path.
Early evaluation by a third-party administrator
Continental General, an Austin-based third-party administrator serving life, annuity and long-term care clients, is testing the tools to bring on books of business faster and at lower cost. The company also operates as a stock life, accident and health insurance carrier.
Ayanna Burns, chief transformation officer at Continental General, said: "As a third-party administrator serving multiple carrier clients, Continental General needs tooling that can scale across programs and compress the timeline from contract to production. We're putting the Configuration Hub and Migration Hub to work against real workflows, and the early direction is promising."
Measurable return on AI investment
Paul Wheeler, chief executive officer designate and board member at Sapiens, said: "SapiensAIP is what turns AI ambition into results insurers can measure. For insurers, this means faster time to production, lower transformation risk and a return on investment in AI working in their core systems, right now."
The platform extends Sapiens' existing core insurance products rather than replacing them, adding agentic tools across the full policy lifecycle. The configuration and migration hubs take requirements and legacy files and turn them into run-ready scripts and load-ready extracts that are mapped, proven and reversible.
Why this matters for insurance professionals
System migration and configuration remain two of the largest cost and risk centers in insurance technology. A platform that ingests legacy data without reformatting, suggests mappings with confidence scores, and keeps an auditable trail for every decision gives implementation teams a faster path to production. For third-party administrators managing multiple carrier clients, the ability to compress the contract-to-production timeline directly affects competitiveness and margin.
