Scapia Raises $63 Million to Build AI-First Travel Finance Platform

Scapia, an Indian travel-fintech company, raised $63 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing investors Peak XV Partners and Z47. The company plans to use the capital to expand across India, hire AI talent, and deepen its AI-native approach to product development.

Founded by Anil Goteti, Scapia combines travel booking with financial products-co-branded credit cards, rewards programs, and UPI payments-targeting younger Indian consumers who treat travel as a lifestyle rather than a luxury.

Product traction and expansion

Flight bookings on the platform grew 5 to 6 times year-over-year, while stays bookings increased 8 times. The company is gaining traction in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India.

Scapia's co-branded credit cards, developed with Federal Bank and BOBCARD, now operate across more than 17,500 pincodes in India. The company was the first in India to launch a dual-network co-branded card supporting both Visa and RuPay.

Over the past six months, Scapia launched Scapia Pay, add-on credit cards, bill payments through BBPS, a rewards store, and an experiences marketplace. Users earn Scapia Coins through spending and redeem them for flights, trains, hotels, experiences, and visa services.

AI-first product strategy

The company says India's large Gen Z population represents both a customer base expecting AI-powered personalization and a talent pool capable of building AI-driven products. Scapia plans to embed AI into both product development and organizational design.
