SENA Health, a New Jersey-based company that builds AI automation for medical practices, closed a Series A funding round led by Rittenhouse Ventures. The investment will expand the company's 24/7 Clinical Command Center, a platform that handles front desk, back-office, and call-center functions for healthcare organizations.
The company did not disclose the financial terms. Rittenhouse Ventures typically participates in rounds of $5 million or less and focuses on B2B SaaS and technology-enabled services companies generating between $2 million and $10 million in revenue, particularly in what it considers underserved markets like the Mid-Atlantic.
How the Clinical Command Center works
SENA's platform combines intelligent automation with healthcare professionals to take over administrative tasks that consume staff time. The system manages appointment scheduling, patient communications, and care navigation - the routine workflows that create delays when handled manually. The company positions this as an AI-enablement layer rather than a standalone software product, keeping human clinical expertise in the loop.
The model targets a persistent problem in medical practices: administrative workloads that pull providers and staff away from patient care. By offloading those functions to a hybrid automation-clinician system, SENA aims to let healthcare organizations redirect their people toward higher-value responsibilities.
What the funding will support
The capital will go toward scaling the Clinical Command Center and expanding global operations as SENA brings on additional healthcare organizations. The company also expects to draw on Rittenhouse's technology and healthcare experience and its operating network - not just its checkbook.
"We are thrilled to welcome Rittenhouse Ventures as a strategic partner as we continue to transform healthcare operations and patient access, combining people and technology to drive meaningful outcomes for the organizations and patients we serve," said Dr. Anthony Wehbe, founder and CEO of SENA Health.
Wehbe added that the firm's "strategic perspective, knowledge of the technology and healthcare industry, and operational guidance will be invaluable as we scale SENA Health, expand our capabilities, and help more healthcare organizations improve access, efficiency, and the patient experience."
The broader push toward administrative automation
The funding arrives as healthcare providers face staffing constraints and look to AI and automation to reduce operational overhead. Medical practices have been squeezed by workforce shortages and rising patient expectations for faster, easier access. SENA's approach focuses on using those capabilities while preserving what the company calls a human-centered experience - automation that handles the friction without removing the people.
For operations and customer support teams in healthcare, the shift is practical. Platforms like SENA's Clinical Command Center target the specific workflows that create bottlenecks: phone tag for scheduling, insurance verification backlogs, and the cascade of administrative tasks that turn an eight-minute appointment into forty minutes of paperwork. Courses on AI for Healthcare Courses cover the types of automation now entering these clinical and administrative environments.
Why this matters for customer support and operations professionals
If you manage patient access, front desk teams, or call-center operations in a healthcare organization, the SENA model signals where the market is heading. Practices are not just buying software - they are outsourcing entire administrative functions to hybrid AI-clinician services. That changes staffing models, training requirements, and how you measure performance. Front-desk roles increasingly involve managing AI tools rather than performing every task manually, a shift that AI Front Desk Automation Courses address directly.
The takeaway is not that jobs disappear - it is that the job description changes. Support and operations professionals who understand how to configure, monitor, and intervene in automated workflows will have an advantage as more practices adopt platforms like SENA's Clinical Command Center.
