SpaceXAI launched Team Bots on September 28, 2026, a new type of shared Grok Bot that gives entire teams access to the same AI coworker, complete with shared files, application connections, and retained memory. The public beta, available on Teams and Enterprise plans, addresses a persistent workplace problem: scattered context that forces teams to repeatedly brief individual AI assistants on the same projects, customers, and internal knowledge.
How Team Bots combine context, tools, and memory
Each Team Bot is built around a specific role or workflow. Everyone on the team shares the same bot, but individual conversations remain private. The bot keeps separate context and memories for each user while drawing on the skills shared across the team.
Four components give a Team Bot its capabilities. Context includes relevant files, instructions, and skills, from brand guides to internal documentation. Plugins let the bot work in applications such as Salesforce, Notion, and GitHub, connected by each person or configured for the whole team. Credentials allow secure access to third-party APIs without a plugin. Memories help the bot retain what it learns and improve at its role over time.
Teams can also collaborate with a Team Bot in Slack. Each bot has its own handle, so it can be invited to a channel where everyone asks questions, contributes context, and sees responses.
How SpaceXAI uses Team Bots internally
SpaceXAI deployed Team Bots across several context-heavy workflows, including sales, engineering, marketing, and data analytics. The results show a pattern: bots that act as persistent team members rather than one-off assistants.
Sales and Customer Success
Every major sales account at SpaceXAI has a dedicated Team Bot shared by the account executive, customer success manager, solutions architect, and sales leader. Each night, the bot reviews company news, recent Gong calls, Notion docs, and relevant Slack threads. By morning, it posts a briefing in the account's Slack channel with what changed and what each person should do next, including drafts tailored to their role.
Throughout the day, account teams use the bot to assess strategy, check its thinking against account data, and plan next steps. The bot remembers decisions and builds context over time. As people rotate on and off the account, it becomes the system of record and brings new team members up to speed quickly.
Harper, an insurance company serving small businesses, built a Team Bot to identify customers with lapsed policies and help them reinstate coverage. Dakotah Rice, CEO of Harper, said: "We initially had to manually check every customer through three platforms, get their balance details, and send them personalized emails. We built a Team Bot in 24 hours to automate this, saving our customers over $120,000 from hundreds of policies. This is now an ongoing engine for us, saving us time and our customers' money."
Product and Engineering
The Engineering Team Bot works from a project's Slack channel and connects to Notion, Linear, Hex, Datadog, and Cursor. It follows product decisions, triages bug reports, creates tickets, and launches Cloud Agents to handle well-defined fixes. The team taught the bot its shipping process through skills, so it knows how to handle PR reviews, when to ask for help, and what evidence a change needs before completion.
SpaceXAI used this setup while building Team Bots themselves. The bot steered a Cursor Project that orchestrated hundreds of Cloud Agents, helping a five-person team ship more than 100 PRs a day and launch Team Bots in a few weeks.
Marketing
Large marketing teams spend considerable time keeping brand, messaging, and voice consistent. SpaceXAI's Marketing Bot has access to brand guidelines, blog posts, and social copy. When someone shares a draft for approval in Slack, it reviews the work against the company's voice and latest messaging. Regional teams get feedback in their own time zones without waiting for an approval cycle at HQ.
For website and SEO changes, the bot carries work from review to launch. Once a content update passes review, it makes the change and posts a preview link in Slack for final sign-off. Anyone on the marketing team can ship website updates without filing a ticket or waiting on engineering, and every change goes through the same brand and SEO checks.
Angela Ferrante, Head of Marketing at Amplitude, said: "We're building toward Team Bots for every marketing function. These Bots help us dig into market and customer intel, show up in AI answers, review launches, and tell us what's working."
Data Analytics
The data analytics team receives dozens of requests each day for one-off analyses. Data Bot uses shared, read-only credentials to query approved tables in Databricks and connects to Datadog, Hex, and Statsig to investigate questions and present results. The team had already spent two years building a library of skills for working with more than 45,000 tables. It gave that library to Data Bot, including instructions for finding the right data, analyzing feature usage for fraud, following chart standards, and safely updating dashboards. The bot remembers corrections to its queries, so what it learns from one person improves answers for everyone.
Getting started
Team Bots is available in public beta on Teams and Enterprise plans. Teams can take existing Grok Bots and share them, or start with pre-built options for sales, product management, marketing, or data analytics. For professionals looking to build these skills, AI Agent Courses cover the automation patterns that underpin shared bot workflows.
Why this matters for operations and management professionals
Team Bots change how institutional knowledge survives staff turnover. When a bot retains context across an account or project, new team members get briefed by something that actually saw the decisions made, rather than piecing together handoff notes. For managers in insurance, legal, or customer support, where continuity directly affects compliance and revenue, a shared bot that remembers corrections and builds on past answers reduces the risk that expertise walks out the door with each departure. The Harper example, where one bot recovered $120,000 in lapsed policies, shows the financial stakes are not theoretical.
