Stripe has extended its Treasury platform to allow authorized AI agents to perform financial operations. The new capability enables agents to check balances, pay invoices, transfer funds, and convert currencies directly within the Treasury environment.
The expansion introduces a permissions framework designed to govern agent activity. Granular access controls, mandatory approval gates, and configurable spending limits are built into the system. These guardrails are positioned as essential requirements as AI agents begin handling consequential financial actions on behalf of businesses.
