TDCX opened its sixth China campus in Foshan on September 2, 2026, a facility purpose-built to serve Hong Kong companies needing scalable Cantonese-language operations and mainland enterprises seeking AI-enabled customer experience services. The campus sits 90 minutes from Central Hong Kong and gives businesses on both sides of the Greater Bay Area a single delivery hub that combines local language talent with the company's proprietary AI tools.
Why Foshan works for Hong Kong and mainland operations
Foshan offers a deep pool of Cantonese and Mandarin speakers, which was the deciding factor in site selection. For Hong Kong businesses, the campus acts as an execution engine next door rather than a replacement for existing teams. For mainland Chinese clients, it provides access to TDCX's AI-enabled delivery model and the workforce depth required to run complex, high-quality operations at scale.
Michael Cowell, Hong Kong Managing Director, said: "Foshan gives Hong Kong businesses an execution engine right next door, and gives mainland Chinese businesses access to the same AI-enabled delivery model that sets TDCX apart globally. Clients no longer have to choose between deep local market knowledge and the scale, speed, efficiency of the Greater Bay Area and with Foshan, they get both, backed by proprietary AI tools built specifically for customer experience and growth operations."
Pod-based model and AI infrastructure
The campus uses small-pod pilots that launch in 60 to 90 days, with typical pods ranging from 3 to 10 full-time employees. Clients can test chat, email, voice, social, or back-office support before committing to scale. Every pod runs on TDCX's proprietary AI solutions, including QA modernization tools, coaching insights, and voice-of-customer analytics - a stack that separates the operation from traditional BPO providers.
Three flexible packages anchor the offering: the Foshan Launch Pod for rapid market testing, the Cantonese CX Pod for Cantonese-first support with optional Mandarin and English coverage, and the AI-Enabled CX Upgrade for teams already in production. Target sectors include e-commerce and retail, travel and hospitality, tech and digital platforms, and financial services.
Talent density and government backing
Guo Yaoyu, Deputy Director of the Nanhai District Management Office, said the district already hosts more than 200 outsourcing enterprises, including over 30 industry leaders. "Nanhai offers rich resources and a very large talent market, particularly as the district focuses on AI. As of June this year, Nanhai is home to more than 3,400 technology enterprises, creating significant opportunity."
Tony Chen, Country Director for China, said: "We can stand up a Cantonese or Mandarin speaking pod in as little as 60 to 90 days, and from day one, that team is supported by TDCX's proprietary AI solutions, the same tools we use to drive quality and consistency for clients around the world."
The campus opens with roughly 100 positions and is expected to grow quickly over the next two years. With the Foshan launch, TDCX now operates six centers across China.
Why this matters for operations professionals
The Foshan campus model removes the tradeoff between local market knowledge and operational speed. Operations leaders evaluating Greater Bay Area delivery can now access Cantonese and Mandarin talent in a single location, launch test pods within a quarter, and layer AI for Operations tools onto teams from day one. The 60-to-90-day pilot window means teams can validate workflows and quality benchmarks without committing to long-term headcount, and the built-in analytics stack provides QA and voice-of-customer data that traditional BPO setups often lack. For anyone running AI for Customer Support functions across Hong Kong and mainland China, Foshan offers a concrete, near-shore option with the infrastructure already in place.
