Tech Mahindra trains over 12,500 staff on Google's Gemini enterprise tools

Tech Mahindra is training over 12,500 associates to build and secure AI agents using Google's Gemini Enterprise tools. The program targets production-grade agentic AI skills across customer support, operations, and consulting roles.

Tech Mahindra is training more than 12,500 global associates to build, secure, and deploy AI agents using Google's Gemini Enterprise tools. The scale of the program signals a direct response to enterprise demand for teams that can move beyond chatbot experiments into production-grade agentic AI.

The company is expanding its Build with Gemini workshop program, which gives participants hands-on experience with Agent Runtime, Agent Gateway, and Model Armor. Each associate who completes the training earns a Google Cloud Skill Badge. The initiative sits within Tech Mahindra's broader AI Delivered Right framework, which organizes its AI work under four pillars: Productivity Delivered, Transformation Delivered, Innovation Delivered, and Assurance Delivered. Offerings like TechM agentX and TechM co-pilot fall under the productivity pillar.

How the Google Cloud partnership evolved

The training push follows a December 2025 partnership between Tech Mahindra and Google Cloud. That deal focused on accelerating enterprise adoption of Gemini 2.5 multimodal models, with explicit attention to governance, safety, and integration with Vertex AI and BigQuery. Kelly Rogan, Google Cloud's VP of Global System Integrators Partnerships, said the collaboration helps enterprises accelerate innovation by equipping teams with the expertise to deploy agentic AI at scale.

The current workshop expansion puts that partnership into practice. Rather than limiting AI expertise to a small specialist group, Tech Mahindra is distributing it across a workforce that spans customer support, operations, and consulting roles. The training covers the full lifecycle: building agents, securing them with Model Armor, and routing interactions through Agent Gateway.

What the training actually covers

The Build with Gemini workshops are not introductory overviews. Participants work directly with three Google Cloud components. Agent Runtime provides the execution environment for AI agents. Agent Gateway manages how those agents connect to enterprise systems and users. Model Armor handles security and content filtering. The Google Cloud Skill Badge serves as a verifiable credential that confirms practical competence, not just attendance.

For managers and HR leaders tracking workforce development, this structure matters. It means employees come out of the program with demonstrable skills tied to specific tools, which simplifies internal deployment planning and capability mapping. Organizations evaluating similar upskilling programs can look at AI Agent Courses to compare curriculum approaches for agent development and deployment.

The four-pillar framework behind the rollout

Tech Mahindra's AI Delivered Right model gives shape to what might otherwise look like a scattered training initiative. Productivity Delivered covers agent-based automation and co-pilot tools. Transformation Delivered targets large-scale process reengineering. Innovation Delivered focuses on new product and service creation. Assurance Delivered addresses governance, compliance, and risk - the guardrails that enterprise clients require before they will deploy agentic AI in customer-facing or regulated workflows.

This structure reflects what enterprise buyers actually ask for. They want productivity gains, but they also need evidence that AI systems won't introduce compliance gaps or security vulnerabilities. The Model Armor component of the training directly addresses the assurance piece. For teams exploring similar governance approaches, Google AI Courses offer pathways to build comparable skills on Google Cloud's tooling.

Why this matters for customer support, education, HR, and management professionals

When a major system integrator trains 12,500 people on agentic AI, the ripple effects reach far beyond its own workforce. Tech Mahindra's clients span telecom, banking, healthcare, and retail - sectors where customer support teams, HR departments, and training functions will interact with or manage AI agents built by these newly certified associates. For customer support leaders, this accelerates the shift from scripted chatbots to agents that handle multi-step queries. For HR and L&D teams, the training model itself is worth studying: hands-on workshops tied to verifiable credentials, focused on production skills rather than conceptual overviews. For managers, the four-pillar framework offers a template for evaluating whether an AI initiative has adequately addressed security and governance before it reaches employees or customers.
