TELCOR Acquires Sample Healthcare to Add AI Workflow Automation to Revenue Cycle Platform

TELCOR announced the acquisition of Sample Healthcare, a move designed to shift revenue cycle management from data management to active process execution through AI-powered automation.

The acquisition reflects a broader industry pivot. Traditional revenue cycle platforms track and organize information. TELCOR's combined offering will execute workflows-automating prior authorizations, appeals, payer follow-ups, and document processing without human intervention at each step.

Sample Healthcare will operate as a standalone product, letting organizations deploy it independently or integrate it with TELCOR's existing platform. This structure lets healthcare providers and laboratories choose how to adopt the technology.

What the Technology Does

Sample Healthcare's AI engine reads unstructured data and executes multi-step workflows. Organizations typically deploy it within weeks, starting with specific workflows and expanding as results justify the investment.

Customers have reported faster authorization approvals, quicker reimbursement timelines, and higher throughput without adding staff. The technology addresses concrete operational problems: rising administrative costs, staffing shortages, and delayed reimbursements.

TELCOR is already using Sample Healthcare's capabilities in its own revenue cycle operations. This internal deployment serves as a testing ground before rolling out features to customers.

The Business Problem

Chris Terrano, president of revenue cycle management at TELCOR, said the current model doesn't scale: "The revenue cycle still depends on people moving between documents, payer portals, and phone calls."

Ankit Ranjan, Sample Healthcare's CEO and co-founder, framed the acquisition as expanding reach: "Partnering with TELCOR gives us the ability to put that technology in front of the thousands of labs and providers who need it most."

TELCOR did not disclose financial terms.

For healthcare professionals managing revenue cycle operations, this acquisition signals where the industry is heading: away from manual document shuffling and toward systems that handle administrative work directly. Organizations evaluating revenue cycle tools should understand the difference between platforms that track data and those that execute processes-the latter typically reduces both costs and processing time.
