Trifork acquires VION AI to add real-time ground operations tracking
Trifork has acquired VION AI, bringing real-time operational intelligence into its aviation software platform. The deal adds tools for tracking and analyzing ground activity during aircraft turnarounds-the critical window when planes are serviced, cleaned, and prepared for departure.
Trifork plans to integrate VION AI's technology into iFly4, its platform used by airlines and airports to manage operations and passenger service. The combination gives airlines visibility into what happens during airport operations and enables faster response when delays start to accumulate.
For operations teams, the acquisition addresses a concrete problem: getting usable data from frontline staff about what's actually happening on the tarmac. Kristian Dollerup, Trifork's head of aviation, said the acquisition aims to improve how turn operations are managed across airport networks.
Trifork CEO JΓΈrn Larsen said, "VION AI brings cutting-edge technology, a smart way to use and train AI and a deep understanding of aviation operations. Combined with Trifork's platforms and global reach, we see strong synergies that will accelerate innovation and create immediate value for our customers."
Trifork expects to complete core integration work within six weeks, with customer deployment to follow. The company said the acquisition will not materially affect revenue or earnings this year.
The move reflects broader pressure on airlines to implement AI-powered solutions for operational efficiency, customer service, pricing management, and disruption forecasting. For operations professionals managing airport workflows, understanding how these tools work is becoming essential.
