VisitorsCoverage Launches MCP Server for AI-Driven Travel Insurance Quotes
VisitorsCoverage released the Treppy MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, a standardized tool that lets AI agents quote and compare travel insurance plans without requiring custom integrations for each carrier.
The server connects directly to multiple insurance carriers and surfaces real-time quotes within AI workflows. Developers can plug it into any MCP-capable AI agent - including OpenAI, Claude, Cursor, Cline, and proprietary systems - without building separate connections to individual insurers.
What the Server Does
- Returns real-time quotes from multiple carriers in a single call
- Provides current coverage details and eligibility rules for hundreds of plans
- Integrates with any MCP-compatible AI platform
The service is free during public beta and available at treppy.io/mcp-server-for-travel-insurance.
Market Timing
The global travel insurance market is projected to exceed $35 billion within five years. As AI agents increasingly handle travel research and bookings, insurance has remained a friction point requiring manual steps or separate platforms.
"AI agents are becoming a primary channel for travel research and booking, yet insurance remains bogged down by bespoke integrations," said Rajeev Shrivastava, CEO of VisitorsCoverage. "We built the Treppy MCP server so any AI agent can quote travel insurance as easily as calling any other tool."
VisitorsCoverage launched Treppy as a SaaS platform in 2022 to let travel agencies build digital storefronts without technical expertise. The MCP server extends that capability to developers building AI for insurance workflows.
VisitorsCoverage, founded in 2006, operates a travel insurance marketplace covering more than 175 countries.
