Volante embeds AI agents into payments operations to cut manual work
Volante Technologies rolled out Vol360i, an agentic AI system designed to reduce manual intervention in payments processing. The platform aims to push straight-through processing rates above 95% and accelerate exception resolution across banking operations.
The system operates on four principles: preventing failures before they occur, self-healing repairs in real time, predicting optimal outcomes for each payment, and detecting risks before they surface. Banks can activate the agents incrementally across workflows and regions, aligning deployment with existing governance structures.
How it works in practice
Vol360i uses a confidence-based model that starts with assisted decision-making and expands to full autonomy as performance data validates results. Agents analyze historical transaction data, operational logs, and prior resolution outcomes to inform live payment workflows.
Operator approvals and overrides feed back into the system continuously, refining confidence scores as transaction volumes grow. All agent recommendations and actions are logged and traceable, meeting enterprise security and auditability requirements.
Deepak Gupta, Chief Product, Engineering, and Deliver Officer at Volante, said the agents "anticipate patterns and issues before they surface, resolve exceptions in real time, and make smarter routing decisions based on live conditions."
What operations teams gain
Manual exception handling consumes skilled operations staff on repetitive tasks instead of strategic work. Vol360i frees those teams to focus on higher-impact decisions and operational improvements.
The system integrates natively into Volante's cloud-native payments platform and PaaS services. It's available immediately to existing Volante clients.
CEO Vijay Oddiraju said the agents operate "within real-world regulatory, risk, and operational constraints," addressing the reality that payments infrastructure underpins critical systems and require compliance controls.
