Xactly and ServiceNow Launch AI Agent to Speed Up Commission Disputes

Xactly and ServiceNow have released the Dispute Management AI Agent, a tool designed to handle commission inquiries automatically. The agent connects Xactly's revenue platform with ServiceNow's conversational AI to resolve compensation questions without manual intervention.

Sales teams and administrators typically spend hours investigating commission disputes. The new agent transforms this process by letting staff ask questions in natural language and receive answers through a single conversation, rather than submitting formal requests and waiting for back-office teams to investigate.

How It Works

The agent uses the Model Context Protocol to coordinate securely between the two platforms. When a salesperson questions their commission calculation, the agent gathers relevant data, identifies the issue, and proposes a resolution without requiring human review at each step.

Chris Li, Chief Product Officer at Xactly, said the solution "eliminates the friction tax for sales teams and turns complex compensation data into an instant, conversational asset."

Part of a Larger Framework

This release is the first of multiple agents planned under the Xactly-ServiceNow partnership. The companies aim to automate other revenue workflows beyond dispute resolution, moving from static data integrations to active automation across sales operations.

Anandan Jayaraman, Vice President of Product for Sales CRM at ServiceNow, said the agent demonstrates "how agent-to-agent orchestration can eliminate manual processes and accelerate resolution cycles for revenue teams."

Why This Matters for Sales Teams

Commission disputes often delay payouts and frustrate salespeople. Faster resolution means less time spent on administrative questions and more focus on selling. The agent also reduces incorrect submissions by providing immediate clarification on how commissions are calculated.

For sales operations managers, the tool reduces the volume of inquiries by addressing common questions proactively. When disputes do require investigation, the agent handles the legwork.
