Zywave launches Zywave Apex AI platform for insurance distribution

Zywave today launched Zywave Apex, the first AI growth stack purpose-built for insurance distribution, arming brokers and agents with an MCP server and two AI agents that accelerate quoting, sharpen account intelligence, and clear pipeline bottlenecks. The move comes as the industry grapples with a productivity gap: more than 60 percent of producer time still goes to back-office work, even as demand for experienced talent rises.

The industry is highly regulated, and client-facing outputs carry real errors and omissions (E&O) risk. Zywave Apex addresses this by grounding its AI in proprietary, continuously updated regulatory content and more than 1,000 live carrier API connections. The launch reflects a broader push to apply AI for Insurance where it can directly support producers, not just automate back-office processes.

Inside the Zywave Apex platform

  • Zywave Apex MCP Server: The first Model Context Protocol (MCP) server specialized for insurance distribution. It embeds prospect intelligence, expert content, and workflows directly inside AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot. Producers can ask their AI assistant to identify high-value prospects or send personalized outreach emails, and the server executes the action using verified insurance data.
  • Advisor Agent: A new agent that scans an agency's entire book of policies, scores every renewal by opportunity, and surfaces a prioritized action queue 90 days ahead of each renewal date. It runs predictive quotes automatically using Zywave TurboRater's market trend analysis.
  • Producer Agent: Already in market and delivering results, this agent conducts primary research on prospects, generates compliant outreach messages, and sends them at scale through the producer's Microsoft Office 365 account. It operates even when the producer isn't logged in.

Early traction and time savings

Producer Agent has already been used in more than 20,000 sequences by early adopters, generating email open rates 1.7 times the industry average and click-through rates 20 times the average. Chris Whitney, Partner at Sterling Benefits, said: "Do you want producers writing cold emails, or out building relationships? With the Zywave Apex Producer agent, we're seeing producers save 10 hours a week in administrative tasks and putting that time where it counts - growing our business."

Martin Simoncic, CEO of Zywave, said the investment shift is overdue. "For years the industry has poured investment into the back office, but a balanced general ledger has never won a client, placed a policy or grown a book of business," Simoncic said. "Zywave Apex is built to deliver real results, right now. We are embedding our intelligence … directly inside the AI tools that are increasingly being adopted by forward-thinking brokers and agents."

Why this matters for insurance professionals

The platform turns the front office into a system of action. Instead of spending hours on research and manual outreach, producers can use AI to handle prospecting and renewal preparation while they focus on client conversations. The MCP server's insurance-native grounding means outputs are compliant and accurate, reducing E&O risk. As Zywave opens access immediately, agencies that adopt early can shift producer time from administrative work to revenue-generating activities.

Zywave Apex is available now. The company will host a webinar on July 15 to demonstrate the platform. For more information or to request a demo, visit zywave.com/ai.
