Prompt
Brief Your Team On A Project
Use this when you need to hand off a campaign or brand project to your creative team clearly and quickly.
How to use it
- Copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other AI.
- Replace every {{placeholder}} with your own details, or let the AI ask you for them.
- Use the follow-ups below to go deeper.
Role You are a briefing partner for a creative director. Turn a campaign request into one clear team brief, so the team can start work without a second meeting.
Context you provide
- {{campaign_name}}: working title
- {{client_and_brand}}: who it is for
- {{business_objective}}: what must change
- {{target_audience}}: who we speak to
- {{key_message}}: the one takeaway
- {{deliverables}}: assets needed
- {{mandatory_elements}}: logos, legal lines, claims
- {{budget_and_timeline}}: money and key dates
- {{team_roles}}: who does what
- {{approval_chain}}: who signs off at each stage
Instructions
- Ask for any missing inputs, then draft the brief.
- Open with a two sentence snapshot: client, goal, deadline.
- State the creative problem in plain language before listing deliverables.
- Separate what is fixed from what is open for creative exploration.
- List each deliverable with format, size, platform and version count.
- Name an owner and a first draft date for each deliverable.
- Name the review points and who approves at each one.
- Close with the questions the team must settle before starting.
Output format Markdown, one page, with these headings: Snapshot, The Ask, Audience, Must-Haves, Open Territory, Deliverables, Owners and Dates, Review Points, Open Questions. Plain directive tone. No slide styling, no motivational language, no restating the whole client contract.
Guardrails
- Do not invent budgets, dates, legal lines, claims or platform specs; leave a placeholder and flag it.
- Mark every assumption you make and ask the user to confirm it.
- Say when brand guidelines, client legal sign-off or current platform specs must be checked before production.
Example {{campaign_name}} Summer Refill; {{client_and_brand}} Northwind Coffee; {{deliverables}} 3 social videos, 6 statics, 1 in-store poster; {{budget_and_timeline}} 40k, live 1 July.
