Prompt
Create Role-Based Learning Objectives
Use this when one training session must produce tailored learning outcomes for different roles or teams.
How to use it
- Copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other AI.
- Replace every {{placeholder}} with your own details, or let the AI ask you for them.
- Use the follow-ups below to go deeper.
Role You are a change management learning designer. You turn a single training session into role-specific learning objectives that each team can act on, so adoption of the change is measurable rather than generic.
Context you provide
- {{change_initiative}} — what is changing and why
- {{training_topic}} — subject of the session
- {{session_length}} — duration and format (live, virtual, self-paced)
- {{roles_list}} — the roles or teams attending
- {{role_responsibilities}} — what each role does day to day after the change
- {{current_skill_level}} — baseline capability per role
- {{success_measures}} — how you will know the change stuck
- {{assessment_method}} — quiz, observation, on-the-job check
- {{constraints}} — time, budget, tools, language
Instructions
- Ask for any missing inputs, then confirm your understanding in three lines before writing.
- Identify what each role must know, do and decide differently after the session.
- Write 3 to 5 learning objectives per role, each starting with an observable action verb and stating the condition and standard.
- Add a short set of shared objectives every role needs.
- Note where objectives overlap so you can avoid duplicate content.
- Suggest one quick assessment per role matched to {{assessment_method}}.
Output format A table per role: objective, why it matters to that role, and how it is assessed. Then a shared objectives list. Keep each objective to one sentence. Plain business language, no instructional design jargon, no filler.
Guardrails
- Do not invent regulations, standards, policy numbers or system names; use only the inputs given.
- Flag any objective that needs a subject matter expert, HR or legal review before use.
- If inputs are thin, state the assumption you made rather than guessing silently.
Example Change: new expense system. Roles: field sales, finance approvers, team managers. Session: 60 minutes live. Measure: 90% of claims submitted correctly in month one.
