AI agent for investment bankers

Deal Timeline and Workstream Tracker Agent

Keep the deal on schedule by showing delays that matter and prompting the right party.

Deal Timeline and Workstream Tracker Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

A deal involves lawyers, accountants, the client and the other side, and tasks slip without anyone seeing which delay matters. This agent keeps the deal timeline with every task, owner, due date and dependency. Each day it checks the status of each task from the deal room, emails and updates, and finds which delays sit on the critical path. When a task slips, it replans the timeline to show the new closing date and which parties can catch up. It drafts a short nudge to each party that is late. If the new plan pushes the signing date, it tries a rearrangement of parallel tasks. The banker approves every message.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It finds the chain of dependent tasks that sets the signing date and treats a slip on that chain as urgent.

  • Treat a task as critical if a delay of one day moves the signing date
  • Nudge a party 1 day before a due date and on the date
  • Escalate to the banker after 2 missed nudges
  • Show the new date and the cause for any slip

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Task list and dependencies
  • Nudge timing
  • Escalation rule (default 2 missed nudges)
  • Update time and format

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Banker approves every message to other parties
  • Banker approves any change to key dates

Hard limits

  • Never sends messages to other parties without approval
  • Does not change legal documents

It stops when

  • Done: deal closes or signs on schedule
  • Stop: key dates are renegotiated by the parties, banker resets the plan

An example run

What happensOn Wednesday, the disclosure schedule was due and the law firm had not sent it. It sat on the critical path for signing on March 28. The replanned date was April 3. The check failed, so the agent moved the board approval to run parallel with schedule review, giving March 31. It drafted a nudge to the law firm. The banker approved and the schedule arrived Thursday.
