A day in the life of a Community Moderator: what changes with these prompts.

Priya is a community moderator for a large gaming forum.

Priya starts her shift at 9 a.m. with 43 new reports in the queue. The first is a flagged post in the Loot Boxes thread where two users are calling each other names. She copies the post and the thread context into ChatGPT and uses the Review Flagged Content prompt. The AI gives her a short summary: the argument started over a rare item drop, and one user made a personal insult. Priya checks the community rules and removes the insult, then moves on.

Next, she opens a report from a user named PixelPete who says another player is cheating. She uses the Responding to User Reports prompt in Claude. She pastes in the report and the player's match history. The AI drafts a polite reply that thanks PixelPete and explains that the team will review the evidence. Priya edits it to add a link to the appeals process, then sends it.

After lunch, a long chat channel called #raid-help has 200 new messages and a brewing fight about raid strategies. Priya uses the Monitoring Chat Channels prompt in Gemini. She pastes in the last hour of chat. The AI highlights two users who are escalating and suggests a neutral message to cool things down. Priya posts the message, and the chat settles.

By 4 p.m., Priya has cleared her queue. She uses the Documenting Moderation Actions prompt to write up three bans and one warning for her team's log. The AI turns her notes into clear, factual records. With the time she saved, Priya joins a call with new moderators to coach them on de-escalation. She also takes a walk before dinner, something she rarely had time for before.
