What to Expect During the Data Protection & AI Summit: Join theCUBE June 30-July 1

AI is changing how organizations handle data protection. IT leaders must now balance protecting AI-driven data with using AI to strengthen defenses against cyber threats. The Data Protection & AI Summit, held from June 30 to July 1, focuses on the challenge of securing agentic AI systems, improving recovery strategies, and embedding intelligence into protection workflows.

Christophe Bertrand, principal analyst at theCUBE Research, highlights the dual nature of AI in data protection. “How do you use AI to better protect your infrastructure, data, and applications? That’s one side,” he explains. “But there’s also the emerging AI infrastructure itself that needs protection—sometimes even from itself. It’s time to combat AI-powered cyber risks with AI-driven recovery solutions.” Bertrand will discuss these new opportunities during the summit alongside industry leaders from Infinidat Inc. and Object First Inc., who will share how their solutions secure critical data in AI-focused environments.

Don’t miss theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, for expert insights and analysis during the event.

AI Data Protection Is Becoming a Priority

With AI’s growing presence in organizations, questions arise about the volume of AI infrastructure and data requiring protection—sometimes even from AI agents themselves. Backup and recovery systems must evolve to integrate these technologies effectively. Bertrand notes, “As AI use grows, protecting these vital data assets becomes crucial. IT teams need clear guidance to prioritize backups and safeguard AI infrastructure.”

Companies are investing strategically in infrastructure, talent, and processes to address new data and availability risks. Some backup solutions already use AI and machine learning, but there’s more to consider. “There is increasing interest in autonomous data protection due to rising cybercriminal attacks and challenges from poorly managed agentic AI,” says Bertrand. “Generative AI may also expand backup capabilities significantly.”

The summit will cover what AI-generated data types require protection and how backup priorities are being redefined. It will also discuss how IT leaders are using AI and machine learning to automate protection, the risks from agentic AI, and the infrastructure needed to ensure resilient AI operations.
