AI Summit at KIET Inspires Students to Innovate for India's Future with Artificial Intelligence

KIET's AI Summit brought together 500 students and experts to explore AI’s role in education and innovation. Leaders highlighted AI’s potential to create new job opportunities.

AI Summit at KIET: Bridging Education and Generation AI

On 19th May 2025, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AI/AI & ML) at KIET Group of Institutions, Delhi-NCR, hosted an AI Summit themed “Where Education Meets Generation AI”. This event aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4, 8, and 9, focusing on quality education, decent work, economic growth, and innovation.

Nearly 500 students from AI, AI & ML, and other Computer Science branches attended, gaining exposure to the latest global advancements in Artificial Intelligence. The summit featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including government officials, industry leaders, and academic experts.

The speakers shared practical insights and experiences that highlighted AI’s current applications and future potential across industries.

Event Highlights

The summit began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony led by Dr. Nalin Kumar Srivastava and Dr. D.P. Singh, followed by welcome addresses from KIET’s academic leadership. Dr. Rekha Kashyap, Dean of CSE (AI/AI & ML), introduced the event’s purpose, while Dr. Adesh Pandey, Director of Academics, shared KIET’s initiatives to promote AI education.

Dr. Srivastava emphasized the government's commitment to AI development, noting a Rs. 10,000 crore allocation to MeitY for AI initiatives. He explained the importance of data sets and computing power, mentioning partnerships with major firms to support startups and innovators through the AI Mission. This infrastructure aims to help India become the world’s third-largest economy.

Sh. Raghav Garg highlighted the transformative impact of AI tools like ChatGPT, warning that 90% of current jobs could become obsolete by graduation time. He encouraged students to use AI knowledge to create new job opportunities and foster growth.

Panel Discussions and Closing

The panel discussions featured 15 experts who shared their perspectives on AI trends, challenges, and career opportunities. Topics ranged from forensic AI applications to cloud technologies and AI’s role in customer solutions.

The summit ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Abhinav Juneja, Director of Corporate Relations and Placement Centre, KIET. Dr. Manoj Goel, Joint Director at KIET, extended his best wishes to the organizers. Faculty, student coordinators, and management representatives were present throughout, contributing to a highly engaging and motivational event.
