AIT Opens Professional School Focused on AI-Era Skills

The Asian Institute of Technology launched the AIT School of Professional Intelligence (AITSPIN) on May 12, 2026, a new professional education program designed to address workforce gaps as AI adoption accelerates across Asia.

The school offers a 36-credit master's degree for working professionals, recent graduates, and employer-sponsored learners. Tuition is around $10,000 total, with flexible pay-by-credit options and up to five years to complete the degree.

AITSPIN centers on five core competencies: AI Literacy, Data Reasoning, Entrepreneurship, Global Connectivity, and Sustainability. The curriculum includes a 15-credit Human & AI Literacy Core, a 15-credit specialization, and a 6-credit industry-linked capstone project.

Addressing a Real Skills Gap

The World Economic Forum projects that 39 percent of core job skills will change by 2030. Southeast Asia faces one of the sharpest workforce transitions globally as digital adoption spreads. In Thailand alone, 62 percent of employers report difficulty attracting skilled talent.

AIT President Pai-Chi Li said the program "brings learning closer to life, connects knowledge with real-world impact, and supports professionals in their continuous journey of growth."

How It Works

AITSPIN uses what it calls the AIT Shared Classroom HyFlex approach. Working professionals can join selected AIT classes live with faculty and peers. When work commitments conflict, learners access recorded sessions asynchronously. Both modes maintain the same academic standards.

The school draws on AIT's faculty network and global industry practitioners to combine academic rigor with real-world expertise.

Admissions opened in May 2026, with the inaugural intake scheduled for August 2026.

Broader Expansion Planned

The master's degree is the initial offering. Over time, AITSPIN plans to expand into modular programs, executive education, and continuous learning pathways for professionals, teams, and organizations.
