Algorae Pharmaceuticals joins Sovereign AI Infrastructure initiative as healthcare and life sciences launch partner

Algorae Pharmaceuticals (ASX:1AI) has been named a foundation participant and the healthcare and life sciences launch partner for the Sovereign AI Infrastructure (SAII) initiative, a network of secure AI training, validation and deployment centres built on NVIDIA-accelerated technology. The move gives the company access to sovereign infrastructure purpose-built for the regulated demands of AI-enabled drug discovery.

SAII, led by AgenticScale.ai, is designed to provide environments where models can be safely tested, validated, benchmarked and deployed. The network will support organisations in AI for Healthcare, energy, defence, and critical infrastructure, both in Australia and internationally.

Algorae's AI drug discovery platform

Algorae brings an established AI drug discovery capability, which is an application of AI for Science & Research, developed in collaboration with the UNSW AI Institute and CSIRO Data61. The AlgoraeOS platform has been independently validated by the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The company has also engaged AgenticScale.ai under a staged program to build AI and automation across its discovery and commercial pharmaceutical operations.

What leadership is saying

Richard Harding, Chief Technology Officer of SAII, said, "The next phase of artificial intelligence will be defined by infrastructure, governance and trust. Organisations need environments where they can safely test models, validate outcomes, benchmark performance and deploy AI systems with confidence." He added that SAII combines NVIDIA-accelerated infrastructure, AI assurance, adversarial testing and secure deployment models.

David Hainsworth, Executive Chairman of Algorae, said, "Access to secure, sovereign infrastructure is the natural next step in applying that capability responsibly and effectively. As launch partner, Algorae is helping shape how AI is applied in healthcare, where it can make a real difference to patients."

Why this matters for healthcare professionals

For healthcare professionals, the SAII initiative signals a concrete infrastructure layer being built to meet the sector's strict requirements for data sovereignty, model validation and adversarial testing. As AI becomes embedded in drug discovery and clinical decision support, access to secure, regulated environments like SAII could help bridge the gap between experimental AI and trustworthy clinical deployment. The partnership also shows how pharmaceutical companies are moving beyond in-house AI experiments toward infrastructure that can support audit, compliance and scaled deployment across regulated settings.
