Alpha Story launches AI marketing platform in Indonesia to serve MSMEs

Alpha Story launched its AI-powered marketing and communications platform, Alpha Echo, in Indonesia on June 22, 2026. The Singapore-founded company is targeting the country's 64 million micro, small and medium-sized enterprises - a sector that accounts for 99% of all businesses and contributes 60.5% of Indonesia's GDP.

The platform combines media outreach, strategic communications, reporting, SEO, and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) with AI-driven insights. Businesses can monitor brand perception, benchmark competitors, and analyze visibility across media, search, social platforms, and AI-powered discovery channels. The service includes guaranteed media placements, campaign reporting, and communications support without long-term agency retainers.

How Alpha Echo works

Alpha Echo generates insights to support PR strategies, thought leadership, content planning, and search visibility. Rather than offering standalone PR services, the platform bundles brand intelligence, content creation, campaign planning, and marketing execution into a single technology-enabled solution. The company operates from a new office in Central Jakarta as an affiliate of outdoor advertising company 8Infini.

The Indonesian launch builds on Alpha Story's regional operations across Singapore and Malaysia, where it has served more than 2,000 clients in automotive, technology, finance, hospitality, and consumer brands. Through this expansion, Alpha Story is betting that Southeast Asia's next wave of marketing growth will come from helping MSMEs access affordable communications tools.

Why Indonesia's MSMEs need affordable marcomms tech

Indonesian businesses increasingly compete for visibility across digital, social, and AI-driven search channels. Traditional agency retainers have kept strategic communications out of reach for most smaller enterprises. Alpha Story's leadership sees affordable marketing technology as a way to level the playing field.

Jeremy Foo, CEO of Alpha Story, said the launch is designed to remove barriers that have traditionally prevented smaller businesses from accessing strategic communications services. "Indonesia's MSMEs are not small in importance. They are the foundation of the economy… We believe there is a major opportunity to use AI, better process design, and more accessible pricing to help MSMEs tell stronger stories and compete more effectively," said Foo.

Leighton Cosseboom, Indonesia Country Lead at Alpha Story, added that many local businesses already have strong products and founders but often struggle to gain visibility. "Indonesia does not have a shortage of ambitious businesses. We want to give more companies access to the tools, media pathways, and strategic guidance they need to earn credibility in the market," said Cosseboom.

Why this matters for PR and communications professionals

Alpha Echo's model signals a shift in how communications services are packaged and sold in Southeast Asia. The platform bundles media placements, reporting, and AI-driven insights into a productized offering rather than a retainer-based service. For PR practitioners, this means technology is compressing the value chain that agencies have traditionally controlled - and creating pressure to demonstrate measurable outcomes faster. Professionals who understand how to integrate AI-powered brand intelligence, AEO, and earned media strategy will be better positioned as affordable platforms bring more MSMEs into the market for communications services.
