ALPHEA raises $5 million to develop distributed infrastructure for AI agents

ALPHEA has raised $5 million in strategic funding to build a distributed cloud and operating environment for autonomous AI agents. The round, backed by MH Ventures, IBC Ventures, Titan Ventures and Becker Ventures, arrives as developers face a growing need for infrastructure that can run AI agents as continuous, multi-step services. The company did not disclose its full investor list or valuation.

The funding will accelerate product development, strengthen the developer network and testnet, improve command-line tools and the Delta packaging system, and expand a global network of computing nodes. These investments target the operational requirements of AI agents - software that can execute tasks, store information, communicate with other agents, and complete machine-to-machine payments with limited human direction.

The infrastructure gap for AI agents

Conventional cloud platforms and blockchains are not fully optimized to provide the combined execution, storage, networking and settlement capabilities that agents need within a single system. ALPHEA aims to fill that gap with a distributed operating environment that bundles those functions. The platform will also pull unused computing capacity from personal computers, smartphones and edge devices, creating a supply model that resembles decentralized physical infrastructure networks.

"One of the biggest challenges in the AI era is not just building powerful models, but creating infrastructure that can run those models as reliable, long-term services," MH Ventures said in a statement.

A machine-to-machine economy

ALPHEA plans to use ALP, its native resource token, for payments and settlement between agents operating within the ecosystem. The token-based economy remains under development, and the company has not yet demonstrated broad commercial adoption.

"ALPHEA will use this funding to accelerate the development of a true machine-to-machine economy, where AI agents can collaborate freely and use ALP, the platform's native resource token, for settlement," said Henry Park, Founder and Technology Lead of ALPHEA.

The platform's timing and scope of future product launches were not disclosed. ALPHEA said it will release additional information about its roadmap, partnerships and upcoming development milestones.
