Amazon Connect Expands to Four AI Agent Products for Business Operations

Amazon is converting its customer service platform into a suite of four AI agent products designed to work within existing business processes rather than requiring companies to rebuild around them. The expansion includes Amazon Connect Customer (customer engagement), Amazon Connect Decisions (supply chains), Amazon Connect Talent (hiring), and Amazon Connect Health (health care).

Each product draws on decades of operational experience at Amazon. The company manages over 400 million SKUs in its supply chain, hired 250,000 seasonal workers in 2025 alone, handles millions of daily customer interactions, and operates One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy.

Supply Chain Planning Gets AI Teammates

Amazon Connect Decisions targets supply chain disruptions that typically take companies more than two weeks to resolve. The system combines 25 specialized supply chain tools and 30 years of Amazon operational science, including a foundation model built from Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technologies.

The product works by establishing company goals and adapting to how a business actually operates. AI agents set up forecasts for individual products, request information about upcoming promotions or holidays, and continuously learn from planner decisions.

When demand patterns shift-a supplier falls behind, a promotion overperforms, or a new product launches with no sales history-Decisions surfaces the top prioritized exceptions with root causes and resolution options. Planners see confidence scores and projected costs. When a planner explains a decision, the system applies that reasoning to similar future situations.

Wells Vehicle Electronics and TVS Motors are already using the product to transform supply chain operations.

Hiring Accelerates From Weeks to Days

Amazon Connect Talent automates the recruitment pipeline from job description to hiring decision. AI agents analyze role requirements, generate interview plans with structured questions and evaluation criteria, and conduct voice interviews 24/7.

Candidates schedule interviews on their own time-9 p.m., lunch breaks, weekends-rather than fitting recruiter availability. The AI agent asks consistent, job-related questions and adapts naturally to responses. By morning, recruiters receive anonymized competency scores, full transcripts, and notes instead of a blank candidate list.

The system strips candidate names and identifying information from recruiter dashboards, focusing evaluation on skills and competencies rather than demographics. This approach helps recruiters compare hundreds of applicants objectively and surface qualified candidates faster than traditional processes.

Customer Service Gets Configuration Without Code

Amazon Connect Customer, the renamed version of the original Amazon Connect platform, now offers new setup capabilities that let business teams design conversational AI experiences without technical expertise. Companies like State Farm, Air Canada, and U.S. Bank have used the platform for years to deliver customer experiences across voice, chat, and digital channels.

The updated product lets teams handle complex workflows-identity verification, payment processing, product recommendations, issue resolution-and iterate immediately. United Airlines deployed a sophisticated conversational AI system in three months, a process that traditionally takes six months or more.

Health Care Automation Frees Clinical Time

Amazon Connect Health automates administrative tasks like scheduling and documentation, allowing health care providers to focus on patient care rather than paperwork.

A Different Approach to AI at Work

These products embody what Amazon calls "humorphism"-designing AI to work like a teammate rather than a tool. Traditional software mimics a desktop with folders and buttons. AI agents need different interfaces that mirror how people actually collaborate: they speak up when they notice problems, stay quiet when someone is focused, and apply new knowledge going forward.

All four Connect products learn business context, adapt to team workflows, and improve over time as they gain more information about a company's specific data and processes.
