Australian compliance technology startup Cenaris has built an AI-powered compliance platform for NDIS providers and healthcare organisations, centred on a Live Overall Audit Readiness Score that combines requirements, policies, evidence and risks into a continuous view of audit readiness. The goal is to replace reactive, last-minute audit preparation with continuous compliance management.
The company was founded by Adam and Natasha after Adam took on compliance and governance responsibility at ANSA Health in July 2025. He found that policies, documents and evidence could be reviewed individually, but there was no simple way to see the bigger picture. Adam's compliance experience and Natasha's decade of software expertise shaped the solution.
"I couldn't find a solution that matched my expectations or delivered the combination of real-time compliance visibility and practical remediation guidance I was looking for," Adam said. "If the solution doesn't exist, we should build it."
AI grounded in evidence
Cenaris uses AI specifically trained for the compliance environment. Rather than sending compliance information to a general-purpose AI model and returning an answer, the platform grounds its outputs in the documents, evidence and information within Cenaris itself.
This approach is designed to reduce the risk of AI hallucinations and unsupported outputs. "In compliance, an answer that sounds right isn't enough. It needs to be grounded in evidence," the company says.
