ASUS and Intel, in partnership with Bahwan Projects and Telecoms, opened an AI Lab at the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dhahirah Governorate, Ibri, on July 8, 2026. The facility is the first AI-focused project by ASUS Education in the region, giving students and teachers direct access to AI-ready hardware and software. It supports Oman's Vision 2040 goal of building a knowledge-based economy and advancing AI readiness.
The lab is the first AI-focused initiative from ASUS Education in the region, reflecting the growing role of AI for Education. It houses a range of ASUS devices designed for classroom and research use, including rugged Chromebooks, AI PCs, and all-in-one computers. Each device runs on Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, which combine CPU, GPU, and NPU engines to accelerate AI workloads directly on the hardware. ASUS said the equipment meets sustainability standards, with long battery life and strong connectivity suited for hybrid learning environments.
