Beam AI launches BIM CoPilot for human-vetted BIM management in the build phase

Beam AI launched BIM CoPilot, a human-vetted BIM management service that gives contractors coordinated 3D models and construction-ready drawing sets across architecture, structure, civil, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection. The move expands the company's support beyond preconstruction and into the build phase, directly addressing the coordination breakdowns that cause on-site delays and budget overruns.

A unified preconstruction-to-build workflow

Beam AI, powered by Attentive.ai, already serves more than 1,200 contractors and suppliers in the U.S. and Canada with automated takeoffs, estimates, and bid management. The launch of BIM CoPilot reflects a broader trend in AI for Real Estate & Construction, where contractors now expect their tools to support the full project lifecycle. Customers who scaled bid volume with Beam AI kept asking what comes next, and the answer was a managed BIM process that turns winning bids into executable plans.

"Our customers were already using Beam AI to bid faster and win more work," said Shiva Dhawan, Co-Founder and CEO of Attentive.ai. "As they scaled their bid volume, they kept asking us what comes next. BIM is the critical step between winning a project and executing it well. BIM CoPilot is a natural next chapter for Beam AI because it allows us to support contractors beyond preconstruction and into the build phase."

How the managed BIM service works

Contractors provide design documents-typically 2D PDFs or CAD files-and Beam AI's BIM team handles the rest. The team builds a coordinated 3D model, resolves trade conflicts, and delivers a construction-ready drawing set that field crews can rely on. The service covers:

  • 3D modeling across MEP, architecture, and structural trades
  • Clash detection and resolution
  • Constructability review
  • Sheet and BOQ generation
  • Revit family creation
  • As-built modeling and post-construction handover support

The workflow follows ISO 19650, AIA BIM Standards, and NBIMS-US v4 frameworks. Contractors don't log into a new platform or build workflows from scratch-the BIM engineers act as an extension of the project team.

Pricing and availability

BIM CoPilot is available now as a standalone, project-based service. Existing Beam AI customers can add it to their preconstruction workflow, and new customers can use it independently for BIM modeling and documentation. Pricing depends on project scope, complexity, and trade coverage.

Why this matters for management

For managers overseeing commercial projects, BIM CoPilot reduces the risk of installing systems that don't fit together-a problem typically discovered on site, where it's most expensive to fix. The service eliminates the need to manage coordination across disconnected drawings and multiple outside vendors. Instead, one team delivers a coordinated model and drawing set that closes the gap between the estimate and the actual build.

"Construction teams do not just need faster bids. They need a stronger bridge between the bid they win and the project they have to deliver," added Dhawan. "With BIM CoPilot, Beam AI is helping contractors carry that momentum forward into execution."

The managed approach shows how AI for Management moves beyond dashboards and reporting and into direct, hands-on project coordination-cutting the rework that erodes margins on even the best-bid jobs.
