Betterworks Acquires Rypple to Connect Manager Support With Performance Programs
Betterworks, an enterprise performance management platform, announced the acquisition of Rypple, an AI-native tool designed to help managers coach and lead teams in real time. The deal reflects a strategic bet that manager effectiveness directly drives business performance.
Betterworks has traditionally worked with HR teams to run formal performance programs. Rypple takes a different angle: it supports individual managers during their daily work-preparing for one-on-ones, giving feedback, handling team conflicts, and making decisions in the moment.
The two companies will operate separately at first while exploring how to connect them. The integration will focus on three areas:
- Learning from how managers actually use the tools
- Finding where product features reinforce each other
- Understanding how AI-driven insights enhance performance workflows
Doug Dennerline, CEO of Betterworks, said the acquisition addresses where performance actually happens. "Performance doesn't happen only during review cycles. It happens every day in the conversations, decisions, and coaching moments between managers and their teams," he said.
Rypple founder Ian Gover added that managers need practical support, not training theory. "Managers don't need more theory-they need support in the moments where management actually happens," he said.
What Rypple Does
Rypple provides in-the-moment guidance for managers on specific tasks: preparing for critical conversations, delivering feedback, navigating team dynamics, and supporting employees as work happens.
The platform aims to reach managers who have historically had little access to coaching or structured support. Anyone managing a team can sign up for free at rypple.ai.
Next Steps
Over time, Betterworks and Rypple expect to explore deeper connections between manager activity and performance data, real-time coaching and formal performance processes, and how bottom-up engagement connects to enterprise-wide impact.
