Buildots, an Israeli AI startup, closed a $130 million funding round on Monday, pushing its total capital raised to roughly $297 million since 2018. The company builds computer vision systems for construction sites and is scaling to meet a global real estate AI market that Research and Markets values at about $405 billion as of mid-2026, with projections reaching $1.4 trillion by 2030.

The round was led by O.G. Venture Partners, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Mohari Ventures, Human Capital, Qumra Capital, Poalim Equity, Viola Growth, and Avigdor Willenz. The fresh capital will fund technology development, hiring, marketing, and expansion into international markets.

How the technology tracks construction progress

Buildots' system compares work plans against on-site photography taken every few days by a project manager or a company representative. AI and computer vision models, trained on eight years of real-time construction site data, perform comparative analysis across schedules, 3D models, and field documentation. The software identifies and classifies hundreds of types of construction work from video alone, then processes that information into a unified progress report for developers, main contractors, and subcontractors.

The company said its system can reduce project duration by an average of about 15% through early identification of delays and coordination problems. Clients include Intel, Azrieli Group, Ashtrom, Peretz Boneh HaNegev, Tidhar, STO Building Group, JE Dunn, Mortenson, Bouygues, and HOCHTIEF.

Founders and workforce expansion

Buildots was founded in 2018 by CEO Roy Danon, CPO Aviv Leibovici, and CTO Yakir Sudry - all graduates of the IDF's Talpiot R&D leadership program. The company employs about 400 people, with 260 in Israel and the rest across the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and Denmark. It plans to hire roughly 100 more employees, including several dozen in Israel.

Danon tied the company's work directly to high-stakes construction environments. "The challenges we are solving in data center construction also exist in office building, residential tower, school, and hospital projects," he said. "Many times it is discovered too late that the project is deviating from the plan. In data centers, because of the size, complexity, and investment, every such deviation generates huge losses."

Investor perspective on industry shift

Ziv Kop, managing partner at O.G. Venture Partners, drew a parallel to a well-known automotive technology company. "Buildots is doing for the construction industry what Mobileye did back in the day for the automotive world," he said. "Buildots' unique models and its ability to collect data from the field bring the AI revolution to the traditional construction world and the tech construction world, which today includes data centers, chip manufacturing plants, and defense-tech facilities."

The broader AI for Real Estate & Construction market is growing at a compound annual rate of roughly 34% to 36%, according to Research and Markets, making it one of the fastest-moving corners of real estate technology.
