Cascade Studio launches open beta for AI-native production platform

A new AI-native production platform launched into open beta on June 17, 2026, aiming to give independent creators and small studios access to the kind of integrated, end-to-end tools once reserved for major Hollywood productions. Cascade Studio's Cascade platform covers the full creative lifecycle-from initial idea development through asset building, project management, and final delivery-using a proprietary agentic AI framework.

The company describes the platform as "the Unreal Engine of storytelling," a unified environment where creators interact naturally with AI agents to develop ideas, maintain character consistency, and manage complex workflows. Cascade's asset-based system integrates generative video, existing creative assets, and live-action footage within a single project, preserving visual coherence and IP integrity across entire productions.

"Too many great stories never make it to screen-and we built Cascade to change that," said Simon Windsor, CEO of Cascade Studio. "We didn't set out to build another AI generation tool. That's not what the industry needs. What we've created is the all-in-one production environment we wished we'd had throughout our careers."

How the agentic framework works

The platform's agentic AI framework lets creators issue natural-language instructions to orchestrate tasks like asset generation, project tracking, and workflow management. The system keeps humans in the decision loop, the company said, rather than automating creative choices outright.

The team behind Cascade

Cascade Studio's co-founders combine deep production and technology experience. Simon Windsor previously co-founded Dimension Studio and served as its co-CEO. Junaid Baig, former lead of DNEG rendering and pipeline, worked on films including Avengers: Endgame, Tenet, and No Time To Die. Darren Hopkins, a technology entrepreneur, was CFO of Dimension Studio and now leads AI-focused investment firm Mollyroe PLC.

Why this matters for creatives

The launch is part of a growing effort to make advanced AI for creatives accessible to those without studio-scale budgets. By consolidating development, asset management, and delivery into one platform, Cascade removes the technical friction that often stalls independent productions. Creatives can focus on storytelling while the AI handles coordination and consistency across complex projects.
