Caterpillar is collaborating with FieldAI to deploy physical AI, autonomous systems, robotics, and digital-twin technology across industrial jobsites and manufacturing floors. The partnership targets the twin pressures of labor shortages and rising productivity demands that operations leaders face daily.

The companies will combine Caterpillar's century of industrial engineering data with FieldAI's robot foundation models. These models are built to function in complex, dynamic environments where conventional automation often fails. FieldAI's platform is robot-agnostic, meaning it can serve as a shared intelligence layer across different machines and tasks.

Initial deployments focus on inspection and visibility

Early applications include autonomous inspections designed to increase safety and operational visibility. Digital twins of jobsites and facilities will deliver real-time information about equipment status, infrastructure conditions, and workflow bottlenecks.
