CGI has acquired technology consulting firm Callibrity, a deal that closed September 8, 2026 and adds roughly 120 consultants specializing in production-ready enterprise AI, platform engineering, and digital product development. The acquisition expands CGI's footprint in the Cincinnati market and strengthens its capacity to move client AI work from pilot programs into live production environments. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Callibrity, founded in 2007, brings together developers, strategists, and engineers who help enterprises address complex technology challenges. The firm has built particular depth in financial services, insurance, and manufacturing. Its customers will now gain access to CGI's broader portfolio and global delivery network while continuing to work with the teams already supporting them.

CGI reported CA$15.91 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue and employs approximately 94,000 consultants and professionals worldwide. The company provides services across strategic IT and business consulting, systems integration, managed IT, business process services, and intellectual property solutions.

What the deal means for clients

For product development teams inside CGI's client organizations, the acquisition brings immediate additional bench strength in modern software platforms and AI for Product Development. Callibrity's consultants have spent nearly two decades helping enterprises ship working software, not just proofs of concept. That operational experience matters when organizations are trying to move AI projects beyond experimentation.

Callibrity's existing clients retain their relationships with the technical specialists they know. The difference is they now sit inside a global firm with significantly more resources for scale, industry-specific insight, and follow-the-sun delivery capabilities.

Regional expansion and technical depth

The deal also gives CGI a stronger presence in the Cincinnati metropolitan market. Vijay Srinivasan, President of U.S. Commercial and State Government operations at CGI, framed the acquisition around both geography and capability. "Cincinnati represents an exciting market for CGI and an opportunity to further establish our presence with a highly respected team that shares our commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for clients," Srinivasan said. "Callibrity brings deep technical expertise, a strong consulting mindset and a culture of curiosity and collaboration that align well with CGI."

Gary Howard, CEO of Callibrity, described the move as a natural next step for the firm he co-founded. "We founded Callibrity on a simple idea: bring smart, talented technologists together, ask the right questions and build solutions that make a meaningful difference for our clients," Howard said. "Joining CGI gives us the opportunity to build on what has made Callibrity successful while expanding what we can offer our clients and our people."

The acquisition also broadens CGI's platform engineering capabilities, an area closely tied to AI for IT & Development. As enterprises modernize their underlying infrastructure to support AI workloads, the combination of platform engineering and production AI expertise becomes increasingly relevant for teams managing complex deployment pipelines.

Why this matters for product development professionals

When a firm with CGI's scale acquires a boutique consultancy like Callibrity, the signal is clear: the market is shifting from AI experimentation to AI operations. Product development teams should expect their organizations to face growing pressure to demonstrate production results from AI investments, not just lab projects. The consultants getting absorbed in deals like this one are the people who know how to ship that work. If your own team lacks production AI experience, the talent market just got a little tighter.
