ClearDox renames itself ClearOpx and launches trade operations automation platform

ClearDox has rebranded as ClearOpx and launched an AI-driven trade operations platform that automates workflows from trade capture to payment processing. StoneX Commodity Solutions is already using it to handle hundreds of thousands of shipments.

ClearDox Rebrands as ClearOpx, Launches AI-Powered Trade Operations Platform

ClearDox has rebranded as ClearOpx and released its Operations Trade Risk Management (OTRM) Platform, designed to automate workflows across the trade lifecycle using agentic AI. The platform handles tasks from trade capture through payment processing, reducing manual work that typically involves spreadsheets, checklists, and email chains.

Commodity and energy trading organizations face constant operational friction. Teams juggle logistics across time zones, manage volatile markets, navigate changing regulations, and process thousands of transactions manually. These conditions create errors that cost revenue and increase risk exposure.

What the Platform Does

The OTRM Platform automates five core operational functions:

  • Trade Capture: Records trade details and broker recaps automatically when a deal closes.
  • Trade Confirmation: Ensures all parties view transaction details consistently across supporting documents and invoices.
  • Operational Intelligence: Tracks physical goods movement, shipping schedules, vessel locations, warehouse inventory, and quality specifications.
  • Finance Optimization: Interprets transaction terms and documentary letters of credit, then initiates workflows to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Payment Processing: Analyzes trade documents to catch errors before payment, reducing manual processing mistakes.

The platform works alongside existing commodity trading and risk management systems rather than replacing them. Portfolio management, valuation, and credit risk functions remain separate.

Market Timing and AI Investment

AI agents and automation spending is accelerating. Gartner projects AI spending will grow 44% in 2026 and reach $4.7 trillion by 2029. Early adopters are converting reactive operational functions into revenue drivers.

Rick Nelson, CEO of ClearOpx, said the operations function has historically received less automation investment than trading floors. "The entire operational side has been relegated to manual processes, antiquated technology, and paper," he said. "This has led to tremendous expense, unnecessary risk exposure, and lost revenue."

Real-World Application

StoneX Commodity Solutions, which executes and settles hundreds of thousands of shipments across multiple commodities and currencies, has already adopted the platform. Brent Grecian, CEO of StoneX Commodity Solutions, said the company has automated manual workflows and achieved operational scale. "We see this capability as a key differentiator in our future success," he said.

For operations managers, the shift means moving from processing-focused work to AI for operations that identifies cost reduction and revenue opportunities. The platform flags critical moments requiring human judgment while handling routine analysis and document processing.
