Cognizant Launches AI-Native Learning Platform to Speed Workforce Reskilling

Cognizant unveiled Skillspring, a conversational learning platform designed to help organizations build AI skills across their workforce at scale. The platform moves beyond traditional training courses to adapt learning paths as job roles and skill demands change.

The company's research found AI can now handle $4.5 trillion in U.S. work tasks and affects up to 93% of jobs. Conventional training systems struggle to keep pace with this speed of change, making workforce skilling a critical infrastructure investment for enterprises.

How Skillspring Works

Skillspring uses AI tutoring and automated content creation to deliver personalized learning to large workforces. The platform maps skills directly to roles, projects and performance outcomes, then adjusts learning paths as those requirements shift.

The system embeds learning into daily workflows through conversational, multimodal experiences. This approach lets employees build skills while working rather than stepping away for separate training sessions.

Internally, Cognizant pairs Skillspring with an AI Fluency Dashboard that shows each employee their AI readiness, learning progress and skill usage in real time. The dashboard uses scoring and gamification to encourage adoption.

Broader Access and Partnership

Cognizant is making Skillspring available to universities, colleges and workforce development programs. The move extends the platform beyond enterprise clients to educational institutions preparing students for AI-era jobs.

The Marcy Lab School, a nonprofit training program, will use Skillspring to help fellows build job-ready skills faster. "In the age of AI, nearly every workflow is being reshaped," said Reuben Ogbonna II, the school's executive director.

Context and Background

Skillspring builds on Cognizant's existing learning infrastructure, which trains hundreds of thousands of employees annually. The platform reflects the company's focus on turning AI investments into measurable business outcomes for clients.

For HR professionals and training leaders, this represents a shift in how organizations approach workforce development. Rather than static curricula, platforms like Skillspring treat learning as a continuous, adaptive process tied to business goals.
