Professional Services Firm Founders Install AI Account Manager at Collective 54 Retreat

Fifty boutique professional services firm founders completed a two-day workshop in San Antonio that equipped them with an AI-powered system for identifying expansion revenue inside existing client accounts. One member closed a deal during the event itself.

Collective 54, a membership community for founders of boutique professional services firms, held its Q2 Retreat April 22-24, 2026 at Hotel Emma in San Antonio and a ranch property in the Texas Hill Country. The workshop taught members a proprietary methodology called The Operating System for Expansion Revenue and installed the AI Account Manager, a software tool built exclusively for members.

What the AI Account Manager Does

The AI Account Manager continuously monitors client accounts to surface expansion signals, identify white space, and recommend next actions. It replaces the manual, periodic account reviews that have historically defined account management at small firms.

Members spent Day 1 learning the expansion methodology. Day 2 focused on standing up a working version of the tool in their own firms. The structure reflects Collective 54's approach: members install operational systems during the Retreat, not after it.

"Our members don't come to a Retreat to be inspired, they come to install something new in their firm by the time they fly home," said Jeff Klaumann, President of Collective 54. "One member closed an expansion opportunity he identified in the room."

Results From Prior Retreats

Steve Hoeft of Pivotal Advisors, a Collective 54 member, attended the Q1 Retreat and implemented a lead-generation playbook the following week. He returned for Q2 to work on expansion revenue inside existing accounts.

"That's exactly why I came back for Q2," Hoeft said. "The topic is different this quarter, but the model is the same: methodology on Day 1, installation on Day 2."

Collective 54 was founded in January 2020 and now has 50 active members. Members have completed 59 firm sales representing more than $3 billion in transactions across North America.
