Healthcare AI firm Commure valued at $7 billion after $70 million funding round
Commure, a California-based AI platform that automates administrative work in healthcare systems, raised $70 million in a financing round that valued the company at $7 billion. General Catalyst led the round, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Morgan Stanley, and Kirkland & Ellis.
The company's platform handles revenue cycle management-the process of managing patient billing and payment tracking. Commure said its tools already complete more than 85% of this work without human intervention across more than 500 healthcare organizations and 3,000 sites.
Commure uses agentic AI, which can plan, decide, and act autonomously rather than simply respond to prompts. This category has become one of venture capital's most pursued areas as investors fund businesses using the technology to streamline operations.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its revenue cycle and practice management platform, and to move into global healthcare markets.
