Davies deploys AI claim intake agent for corporate risk business

Davies has expanded its ClaimPilot product to corporate risk claims, deploying an AI-powered intake agent that reduces processing times by more than 80 per cent.

The agent gathers and processes information from multiple sources-including insurer templates, custom forms, and handwritten documents-before passing the data to the firm's claims management system and on to a claims handler. This eliminates manual data entry and provides clients with a consistent experience.

The system uses what Davies calls a "source-flexible extraction model" to handle any document format. When the AI cannot confidently extract required information, the case automatically escalates to a human expert.

Dan Saulter, Group CEO of Davies, said the expansion represents progress toward delivering "technology-led solutions that deliver tangible results for our clients." He added that automating intake frees claims handlers to focus on complex work rather than data processing.

Davies is a professional services firm serving insurance and regulated markets. The group has completed more than 40 acquisitions under Saulter's leadership since 2013 and operates an innovation lab focused on developing new technologies.

The deployment addresses a persistent pain point in claims operations: the time spent extracting and entering information from initial submissions. For insurers managing high claim volumes, the 80 per cent reduction in intake time translates directly to faster handoff to claims professionals and earlier engagement with policyholders.
