Deutsche Telekom expects AI workloads to move closer to devices
Deutsche Telekom says more AI tasks will move to devices and local networks to cut delays, requiring security and management to be spread out too.

Deutsche Telekom expects more AI inference workloads to shift from centralized cloud environments toward edge networks and on-device processing. The move is driven by lower-latency requirements for robots and autonomous services that cannot tolerate the round-trip delays of distant data centers.
For IT and operations leaders, this distribution of AI workloads means security, observability and service-level management must also be distributed. Planning should account for these functions running across edge locations and devices, rather than assuming all AI processing will stay in a single, centralized environment.
