Digital Science has launched the Altmetric MCP, a Model Context Protocol server that connects AI agents to its research attention tracking data. The tool lets researchers, institutions, and medical affairs teams pull real-world engagement metrics from news media, policy documents, and social media directly into AI workflows like Claude or ChatGPT.
Citation counts remain the default measure of academic influence, but they capture only part of the picture. What the Altmetric MCP does
