DRA deploys AI platform across Chennai construction projects
Chennai-based developer DRA has partnered with California-based Slate Technologies to deploy an AI construction platform across its projects. The system currently covers 3.3 million sq. ft. of development and supports nearly 2,000 on-site workers.
The platform, called Slate AI, enables real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and multilingual site coordination. DRA is using it to track project planning, quality inspections, site monitoring, procurement, workforce productivity, and safety metrics across over 100 technical staff members.
How the platform works
Slate AI links quality workflows with project schedules, allowing teams to identify issues early and resolve them faster. The system flags potential delays before they occur, giving project managers time to adjust timelines and mitigate risks.
A key feature is real-time multilingual communication. Construction sites in India employ workers across multiple language groups. The platform translates and coordinates instructions across teams, reducing errors and improving clarity on site.
Why developers are adopting the technology
DRA said the system aligns with its focus on strengthening execution standards and ensuring timely delivery. As project complexity and scale increase, traditional construction management systems alone are insufficient.
The move reflects a broader shift in Indian real estate toward data-driven execution models. Developers are responding to market pressure for transparency, governance, and consistent quality across larger project portfolios.
For Slate Technologies, the partnership signals growing demand for AI-driven solutions in construction markets where project scale is expanding rapidly.
