Faraday Future and Boston Business School Launch Industry-Focused AI Robotics Institute

Faraday Future and Boston International Business School announced a partnership to establish the BIBS-FF AI Robotics Institute, positioning it as the first industry-driven Physical AI and Robotics Institute in the United States. The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding in May 2026 during the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska.

The institute integrates robot deployment, educational systems, and data infrastructure rather than functioning as a traditional school. It aims to build talent standards, data standards, and certification systems for the Physical AI field.

What the Institute Will Do

The institute will cultivate professional talent for the AI and robotics industry through several channels: developer training for professionals and youth, robotics vocational skills certification, entrepreneur support, and applied research.

Every student interaction, robot deployment, and system use will generate data to train next-generation Physical AI systems. The institute positions education as the first application scenario for deploying robots at scale.

A global Physical AI certification system will cover robot operation, AI development, automation design, data collection, and maintenance. The institute aims to set industry standards for talent development and professional credentials.

Faculty and Leadership

Boston International Business School was co-founded by Pedro Nueno, co-founder and founding dean of CEIBS, and Liya Rong, former publisher of Harvard China Review. The inaugural faculty includes academics from Peking University, Stanford University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania, along with Silicon Valley AI experts and industry leaders.

Recruiting Partner Institutions

The institute is seeking partnerships with vocational training organizations, K-12 schools, community colleges, universities, and technical institutions. Partner schools will gain access to robotic systems, standardized curriculum, industry-connected hands-on training, and internship opportunities at FF AI-Robotics.

Chris Chen, co-CEO of FF AI-Robotics, said: "We are entering a new era of Physical AI, where intelligence moves from the digital world into the real world. Education is the first application scenario for our robots."

For educators looking to integrate AI and robotics into their programs, resources on AI for Teachers and AI for Education offer foundational knowledge and practical implementation strategies.
