Foxconn unveils physical AI vision for smart hospitals at COMPUTEX 2026

Foxconn debuted hospital AI agents and robotics at COMPUTEX 2026 to automate clinical workflows. Its Nurabot handles 80 daily tasks, cutting nursing workloads by 30%.

Foxconn unveiled its Physical AI healthcare vision at COMPUTEX 2026 and NVIDIA GTC Taipei on June 1, 2026, integrating AI agents, collaborative robotics, and digital twins to address workforce shortages, aging populations, and growing clinical complexity. The company demonstrated systems that perceive, reason, and act alongside healthcare professionals - shifting from isolated AI tools to coordinated workflows inside real hospital environments.

The initiative builds on NVIDIA's full-stack AI architecture, using platforms like Omniverse, Isaac, Holoscan, and Nemotron to create AI-native healthcare infrastructure. Foxconn's approach combines embodied intelligence, digital twins, and clinical workflow orchestration to move AI from simulation into everyday clinical operations.

Nurabot and the push to reduce nursing workloads

Nurabot, Foxconn's nursing collaborative robot, completed field validation last year and is now expanding into hospitals and long-term care settings, including Taipei Veterans General Hospital and Tungs' Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital. Real-world deployment data shows the robot handles 75-80 tasks daily, cutting nursing workload by roughly 30% through medication delivery, specimen transport, and other clinical assistance workflows. This reduction translates directly to hours reclaimed for direct patient care - a concrete example of AI for Healthcare moving from pilot projects to measurable impact.

Surgical robots and chemotherapy automation

Foxconn also showcased a scrub nurse collaborative robot developed with Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, and Yuan High-Tech. The system uses the NVIDIA Isaac for Healthcare Agent-Ready Rheo Blueprint and the Isaac GR00T Vision-Language-Action architecture to enable multimodal perception, surgical scene understanding, and task reasoning. Since its debut at GTC earlier this year, the project has advanced through simulation training and surgical workflow validation, with clinical validation planned next.

Another demonstration integrated chemotherapy drug compounding, autonomous transport, and nursing delivery into a single intelligent workflow. Built with Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Yuyama Manufacturing, and FARobot, the platform uses NVIDIA Omniverse to create a virtual-physical environment. ChemoRo performs high-precision compounding, FARobot SMR30 handles autonomous intra-hospital transport, and Nurabot manages last-mile delivery to nursing stations. The closed-loop system aims to improve medication safety, traceability, and process reliability in high-risk chemotherapy workflows.

Orchestrating clinical AI agents with CoDoClaw

Foxconn introduced CoDoClaw, a clinical agent system built on NVIDIA NemoClaw, an open-source blueprint for deploying autonomous agents with added privacy controls. CoDoClaw evolves the company's CoDoctor AI from standalone tools into a multi-agent orchestration platform that coordinates AI agents across breast cancer screening, ECG analysis, fundus imaging, and coronary artery assessment through a unified interface. By connecting lesion detection, appointment scheduling, report generation, and follow-up management, CoDoClaw shows how clinical AI agents can support cross-department workflow orchestration - a key step toward broader AI Agents & Automation in hospital settings.

"Healthcare's next transformation will not come from AI models alone, but from AI systems capable of perceiving, reasoning and acting in real-world clinical environments alongside healthcare professionals," said Barry Chiang, President of Foxconn B Group and Digital Health. "Foxconn is building the next generation of intelligent healthcare through AI infrastructure, digital twins, embodied intelligence and ecosystem collaboration. We believe Physical AI will fundamentally reshape how hospitals operate and how care is delivered in the future."

Taiwan's highly digitized healthcare ecosystem, national insurance system, and semiconductor leadership give it a unique position to validate Physical AI at scale. Foxconn plans to continue working with NVIDIA and partners through the Taiwan Digital Health Alliance (HiMedt) to deploy these systems across hospitals, long-term care, and home healthcare environments.

Why this matters for healthcare professionals

These systems aren't theoretical. Nurabot is already handling 75-80 tasks per day in real facilities, and the chemotherapy automation platform replicates actual workflows from Taipei Veterans General Hospital. For nurses, pharmacists, and surgeons, that means less time spent on repetitive transport, compounding, or instrument handling - and more time for clinical judgment and patient interaction. The integration of digital twins and multi-agent orchestration also points to a future where AI doesn't just assist one task but coordinates many, potentially reshaping shift workloads and safety protocols. Understanding how these tools fit into daily practice will be essential as hospitals move toward AI-native operations.
