Fullspan Health's AI agent draws 1.1M views since June launch

Fullspan Health's conversational AI agent, Healthline AI, has drawn more than 1.1 million views since its June launch and now reaches about 13,500 people daily, the company said. The tool, which draws exclusively from Fullspan's medically reviewed properties including Healthline, Healthgrades, Medical News Today and Psych Central, is showing early signs that patients will use AI to move from health information to actual care decisions.

Debra Harris, Fullspan Health's head of marketing, told Fierce Healthcare that users average 1.6 queries per session, which translates to about three conversation turns per exchange. The depth of engagement has grown 28% since launch. Three-quarters of people who open the tool submit a query, and 7% of sessions result in next-step actions.

"Of those actions, 94% are having a care path or provider, finding a provider, seeking a specialty and engaging with care," Harris said.

What sets Healthline AI apart

Fullspan's portfolio includes Healthgrades, a provider directory that Harris says gives the AI agent a structural advantage over other health chatbots. The tool can connect users directly with specialists rather than stopping at information delivery.

"We've got the number one provider resource within our portfolio," Harris said. "So being able to connect people with the right specialists to help meet their needs, I think, is a differentiator, and then with all of the additional tools and functionality that we have at our disposal."

The product has handled more than 2,800 diagnostic and sensitive interactions with zero reported clinical or compliance incidents to date, according to executives. In-product feedback is 78% positive.

Healthline AI currently covers Type 2 diabetes content and plans to expand to other conditions as it scales to Fullspan's 63 million monthly unique user audience. The launch comes amid rising consumer use of chatbots for health questions - a March Rock Health survey found 32% of respondents used chatbots to find health answers, up from 16% in 2024.

Consumer research from Healthline found 90% of respondents were interested in a conversational health experience, and nearly 70% said they would find it more trustworthy than ChatGPT.

Why this matters for healthcare professionals

For clinicians and health system administrators, the early metrics suggest patients are willing to engage with AI for health information - and, notably, to follow through on care actions. The 94% rate of next-step actions tied to provider searches and specialty engagement indicates conversational AI could become a meaningful patient acquisition channel. Practices that ensure their provider listings are accurate and complete across directories like Healthgrades may be better positioned as AI agents increasingly route patients toward care. For professionals evaluating AI for Healthcare tools, the zero-incident record on sensitive interactions offers a useful benchmark for safety and compliance standards.
