Gen Z and Millennials Lead Demand for New AI-Driven Insurance Protection

Young UK Workers Show Strong Interest in New Insurance Product

A recent survey conducted in June 2025 among 1,299 UK adults highlights a clear trend: younger workers are most interested in purchasing a new type of insurance, if it were available. The data shows that 64% of Gen Z (18-27 years old) would consider buying this protection, making them the leading demographic.

Millennials (28-43 years old) follow closely behind, with 60% expressing interest. In contrast, only 34% of Gen X (44-59 years old) and 21% of Boomers (60-78 years old) said they would purchase the insurance.

Age Group Comparison

  • 18-27 years: 64%
  • 28-43 years: 60%
  • 44-59 years: 34%
  • 60-78 years: 21%

When looking at broader age brackets, 64% of younger workers were interested, compared to 47% of those aged 35 to 54, and just 23% of workers over 55.

Changing Work Environment

Ryan Griffin, protection director at Beagle Street, commented on the findings: "AI is changing the working landscape daily and all businesses need to consider how protection products can adapt to these shifts."

With AI influencing job roles and the nature of work itself, insurance products that address these changes could meet a growing need, especially among younger generations who are more engaged with technology and emerging work trends.

Implications for Insurance Professionals

For professionals in insurance, these insights point to opportunities in developing products that appeal to younger workers. Understanding the shifting workforce demographics and their concerns can guide product innovation and marketing strategies.
