Golden Gate University Launches AI-Powered Global Education Division

Golden Gate University announced the launch of GGU Digital, a new division that will deliver degree programs globally using AI-enabled instruction and multilingual learning. The division aims to make higher education more affordable and accessible to students worldwide.

GGU Digital will offer personalized learning pathways tailored to individual students, with instruction delivered in multiple languages. The university said the approach will reduce costs while maintaining program quality.

The initiative builds on GGU Worldwide, the university's existing global education arm, which already serves students in more than 25 countries. GGU Digital will extend that reach by integrating advanced AI capabilities into teaching and program delivery.

Curriculum Focus on AI Fluency

All students graduating from GGU Digital programs will complete a new core curriculum emphasizing hands-on experience with emerging technologies. The university already offers specialized programs including a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and a Doctor of Business Administration in Emerging Technologies.

Golden Gate University's location in San Francisco reflects its positioning at the center of AI innovation. The institution evaluates students on their ability to apply AI tools in real-world scenarios, not just theoretical understanding.

Timeline and Scale

The first GGU Digital degree programs are expected to launch in August 2026. The university serves more than 8,000 students globally and has recently established a new School of Psychology focused on human systems in the age of AI.

Brent White, president of Golden Gate University, said the launch expands the institution's mission. "Since our founding in 1901, the mission of Golden Gate University has been to power economic mobility. GGU Digital expands that mission at global scale."

Edward Roekaert, executive vice president and provost, said the division addresses access directly. "Our mission is to provide access to higher education to anyone, anywhere. GGU Digital will deliver individualized instruction to students anywhere in the world, in their own language, at a price they can afford."
