Google has launched pre-orders for the Googlebook, a new laptop starting at $899 that embeds Gemini AI directly into the operating system. Magic Pointer activates when a user wiggles the cursor. It understands text, images, and the surrounding context on screen. The feature targets tasks that normally require multiple steps across different apps.
One example: highlighting a marathon training plan on a webpage and asking Gemini to parse the schedule and create calendar entries automatically. Another: hovering over a suspicious email and requesting an analysis of its text and images to flag potential spam. Users can also select a group of images and ask Gemini to combine them visually - no downloading or uploading required.
Google emphasized that privacy shaped the design. "It only springs into action when summoned by a wiggle, and stays off when you're not using it," the company said.

Rambler addresses a persistent friction in voice-to-text tools: the need to edit out stutters, filler words, and false starts after the fact. Instead of transcribing every utterance literally, Rambler interprets the speaker's intent and produces clean, structured output.
The feature can take what Google describes as a "disorganized verbal brain dump" and reformat it into bullet points with action items and relevant emoji. It supports multilingual input, allowing users to switch languages mid-sentence without interrupting the flow.
