GrubMarket adds sales AI agent for wholesale food distributors

GrubMarket launched a Sales AI Agent that helps food distributors prospect accounts, pull products from menus, and build price quotes in minutes. The tool works standalone or alongside existing distribution software.

GrubMarket Launches Sales AI Agent for Food Distributors

GrubMarket has released a Sales AI Agent designed to help wholesale food distributors' sales teams prospect, analyze menus, and generate price quotes. The tool compresses work that typically takes hours into minutes, according to the company.

The agent identifies restaurants, food service operators, and retailers by zip code. It extracts products from photos or PDFs of menus and order guides that users upload. It then generates price sheets using configured pricing or custom rates.

Sales reps can review and edit the information before sharing price sheets with prospects via email, text, messaging apps, or print. The tool integrates with existing food distribution software or runs standalone.

GrubMarket Chief Software Product Officer Genevieve Wang said the traditional process of researching prospects, reviewing menus, selecting products, and building quotes takes sales reps hours per opportunity. "The Sales AI Agent compresses that process into minutes," Wang said.

Part of Broader AI Suite

The Sales AI Agent joins GrubMarket's existing AI products: GrubAssist for retrieving information and creating orders, AI Orders for extracting orders from voicemails and emails, AI Chatbot for customer and employee support, and Wholesaleware AI for market pricing data on thousands of products.

GrubMarket CEO Mike Xu said the launch represents progress toward the company's goal of building specialized AI agents for every major function across the food supply chain.

GrubMarket raised $50 million in Series H funding in February at a pre-money valuation of $4.5 billion. The company operates in 70 countries and plans to expand further.
